To get started, all you need is a smartphone or computer, plus the email address of your recipient.

How to send a digital gift card

1. Find your e-gift card
   From the main menu, click on e-gift cards. Here you’ll find a full list of our digital e-gift cards. You’ll also see our featured cards that you can send online or you can search for your own brand with the A-Z.
2. Choose your amount
   Once on your chosen brand, enter the amount you want to load onto your gift card. For most e-gift cards, this is between $5 and $250. You’ll also find a brief description of the company, so you can be sure you’re purchasing the right digital gift card.
3. Add your recipient’s name
   You need to enter your recipient’s name and email address. It’s best to use the person’s legal name rather than a chosen or nickname. You might want to double check this before ordering, as well as their email address.
4. Enter their email address
   You’ll need to input a relevant email address. People often create new accounts so you may want to check with the recipient which address is best. It’s also easy to make spelling mistakes when entering this information. Find out how we store and protect this information.
5. Add your message
   Enter a message to tell your recipient who the gift card is from and why you’re sending it. With most e-gift cards, you’ll get up to 250 characters for your message and up to 22 characters for your own name.
6. Choose your delivery
   You can choose ‘now’ to have your digital gift card sent as soon as possible or pick a future date. This is great if you have just been paid but don’t want to forget a friend’s birthday later in the month.
7. Add to cart
   When all this information is entered, you should click ‘add to cart’. You can then review your order, the value on the card and your recipient’s email address.
8. Check the information
   Once you’ve checked the information is correct, you can either clicked ‘proceed to checkout’ or ‘continue shopping’ to add more gift cards to your basket.
9. Enter your billing details
   You can either create a Kroger account or checkout as a guest. When you’ve decided, enter your billing information and you’re all set. You can pay via Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover – whichever works for you!
10. Complete your order
    That’s it. You’re done. Now all you need to do is decide whether to tell your recipient or let them get a surprise!

If you don’t hear from your recipient, you might want to check in to make sure they got your gift. The email may have been filtered into their Spam or Junk folders depending on their provider and settings so it’s best to check.
